EventCFR Aids in Flood Assistance Efforts at Sweetwater Valley C.A.M.P

Upon request from the Cobb Legislative Delegation, The Center for Family Resources is managing the Cobb County Flood Relief Fund and to date, more than $11,000 has been donated to flood victims. The funds are being used to assist victims in covering basic living expenses and to acquire temporary housing. Additionally, CFR case managers are on-site at Sweetwater Valley C.A.M.P, the designated central location for flood assistance. In addition to individual donations, corporate partners are contributing too. Special thanks go to RaceTrac for providing $10,000 in water, ice and gas cards. When she realized that she couldn't make ends meet for herself and her son, Crystal Boatright, 47 knew she had to seek help. A licensed real estate agent, Boatright watched as her income dwindled and became inadequate to pay her mortgage or to make a trip to the grocery store. "You would have never known to look at me that I had only $10 left to my name," she said. She called the United Way 211 call center and found services and programs at CFR to get her back on her feet.
